DNN Evoq's | Unique User Experience

Creating a Dynamic User Experience with Dynamic Content

Whether you're creating a Sales, Partner, Customer or Service portal, DNN's module permissions makes creating a unique and tailored user experience process simply a couple of clicks.

If you've ever managed a website, you know what I'm talking about when you have to give someone else admin rights to the site. Your stomach churns, your eyes roll back and you think, "Here we go again. Someone is going to mess things up." The sad thing is, you're right to feel that way, but not anymore. DNN makes the sharing and secure administration to specific content or areas of the site a snap.

DNN Evoq's Unique User Experience

DNN Evoq’s user interface experience is unlike any other. With the ability to create, edit and manage user permissions from a single source, you can develop an interface unique for each individual user. Although other CMS's allow you to define roles (editor, contributor, etc.), DNN allows you to create group roles and sub-groups roles (Employees --> HR, Finance, Marketing, etc.). It also breaks down every element on the site and exposes the right to assign permission to those roles and role groups. This means that an HR assistant can have edit rights to only one paragraph of content on the HR page. The training coordinator can edit the training calendar. All can be done without exposing the rest of the site. Combined with Approval work flows (ability to stage content for approval) makes it easy now to control the staging and approval of content without having the cumbersome second staging site.

Different Applications of DNN Evoq's

Sales Portal

setting DNN permissions to groups Creating a unique interface for individual groups can develop a whole new experience for each user logged into to your site. Whether you are an employee logging into your company’s site and are welcomed by a today’s agenda module or a loyalty card holder greeted with today’s deals upon logging in, dynamic content enables you to manage permissions of what content is viewable by which users. With a few clicks you can create a whole new experience for each user. Being able to create different experiences for each user not only brings a more enjoyable user experience, it can also boost the efficiency of your site. When a user creates an account, that account can be assigned to one or more DNN roles. DNN allows you to assign roles’ access to navigation, pages, and modules, meaning that each role can be treated to a unique user experience when they log in and navigate through the site.

Content

Now that we know we are able to create a unique experience for each role, what content do we want to slice and dice? Your sales portal may have both employees, sales and channel partners all logging in. For example, you may want to control what partners get access to what price list and promotions. You may not want an affiliate partner to view a gold level or distributor price list, or if a sales employee logs in, they can view all partner price lists. Regardless of how you want to manage who gets access to what content, DNN permissions controlling dynamic content can easily manage and organize that content for you.

Process

When creating unique layouts and a user interface for both employees and partners, you are wanting two entirely different user experiences. With DNN modules, you are given access to numerous tools which can do just that. Whether you are wanting to give permissions to administrative tools to your employees or a welcome module offering deals or insider news to your partners, both are possible with just a few clicks.
