Clarity Ventures Adds Split-Order Options for eCommerce

Automatic Creation of Split Orders on CEF

Austin, TX — February 7, 2017 — The ability to split ship — automatically organizing suborders from a single order — has been added to Clarity Venture’s eCommerce offerings as an out-of-the-box feature.

Clarity eCommerce framework has added a new feature to auto-split and then forward orders, a feature that is useful for both B2C and B2B customers. A familiar example of auto-splitting of suborders occurs if someone orders ten items on Amazon. Amazon might only be selling five of those directly from its warehouse, but the other five items might be from five separate sellers in the marketplace. Now, in order for that to be automated and work well, the order needs to be split into six suborders: one sent to Amazon’s internal fulfillment, and one to each of the five sellers. This way, each suborder can be worked, fulfilled, and tracked by Amazon (as the aggregate marketplace admin), as well as each vendor that sends each item to the buyer.

This ability is now available to any-sized business, from start-ups to enterprise-level businesses. "This is something we've needed for a while," said Ron Halversen, VP of Sales and Marketing. "Every marketplace implementation we've rolled out has needed this feature as a core component. Up until now, we've had to customize and build that capability for each installation. Now, it's available for every Clarity client, and every type of store or marketplace implementation. This includes B2C, C2C, and, of course, B2B eCommerce.”

Suborders are very important for scenarios such as split payments or split shipments. They're also important for different divisions within a business — or possibly different shipment dates — so an order might be split based on when each item can be fulfilled. Suborders allow us to visually display this for our customers and to track this within a variety of eCommerce applications.

“This can be extremely important for a business to fully automate suborders with back-office systems and fulfillment processes,” says Chris Reddick, Clarity Venture’s President, and CEO. “It’s a core aspect of their business fulfillment that helps them auto-split and deliver accurate suborder information based on their specific business logic. Without sub-ordering, it's not possible to integrate fully with back-office systems. Clarity now gives them this option at a price that surprises many customers.”

Clarity added this option to their proprietary eCommerce framework — CEF — to help businesses compete against the biggest sellers on the planet. Many enterprise eCommerce systems, especially SaaS systems, don't have such advanced suborder-splitting capability. This can be a major challenge for integrations and enable business workflows that are fundamentally necessary for that particular industry.

Clarity Venture’s eCommerce offerings continue to grow, delivering out-of-the-box options that other eCommerce frameworks charge for. To learn more about CEF, click below. For a demo and to see how automated suborders can improve your vendor-enabled drop shipping, give Clarity a call.
