The Client

LDR Medical (now Zimmer Biomet) is a prominent leader in spine surgical products worldwide. Their previous website was holding the company back in a few key areas, including global organization of product information and user experience via visitor flow and design. LDR asked Clarity to revamp its entire online presence from portal structure to multi-language capabilities to a new design to custom modules that show off the company's wide product range, which included unique product lines for each country. After this initial 7-site project, LDR had Clarity build them an Employee Portal, a new FDA approved product marketing site, a Global Medical Scheduling application, and more.

Existing Problems

LDR was having and continues to have tremendous success worldwide with their innovative and proprietary products. However, their website and online relations were not reflecting that success properly. Additionally, the past site experience did not allow visitors to quickly learn about the company and get to the information they want to find. The website was not hosted on a powerful content management system in order to allow LDR to make changes easily without touching the code, and the navigation made it difficult to handle unique site experience per country.

Our Solutions

Clarity delivered a 7-site, multi-portal DNN (DotNetNuke) website based on ASP.Net with custom modules in order to create a user experience that matched exactly what LDR management needed. In order to supplement the research process of its visitors, the website was build to include history of the company in an interactive timeline format. Each country with a LDR office received its own subdomain and portal to market its products in the native language. The navigation was built in 2 tiers. The top tier provides access to the global corporate pages, while each country has their own localized menu and website, still maintaining the global top-tier navigation.

The Benefits

After project completion, LDR had a multi-lingual, multi-portal global website with clean site architecture and custom functionality to display the company's products and information. Clarity designed and built a custom digirtal timeline to showcase all their patents, and other successes. The product pages included customized tab modules in order to show many different types of information and embedded documents without unique page loads. The website is now easily manageable by LDR staff in each country because it was implemented with the DNN’s content management system.

Technologies

The front-end CMS is DNN’s Evoq Professional. HTML5, CSS3 and Modernizr was used to create the responsive template.

Clarity Connect, JavaScript, JQuery, Telerik controls were all needed for various features and functionality, as well as a host of DNN modules, like XMod Pro, Easy DNN News, Rotator and Gallery.
