MCI handles complex course scheduling for multiple registrants, but the UI could only process one student to one course at a time. They needed to combine multiple back-office LOB applications into a single workflow, with the ability to handle many “edge” cases (i.e. government required consideration for special needs, compliance regulations, mandatory discount evaluation for registrations of more than 5 attendees, etc.). They also needed real-time communication with their accounting and scheduling applications. Finally, government clients often had difficulty paying since the person responsible for signing up for the course, didn’t have the payment information, p-card or authority.
